After a month’s postponement due to Storm Ciarán, the Durrell Dash finally took place on Sunday 3 December with a festive twist.
Over 320 runners took to the lanes of Trinity to run the family-fun 2.6km, the ‘jolly’ 6km, or the more challenging 12km race – with many embracing the theme by donning Christmas jumpers, Santa hats, Christmas trees, and reindeer antlers.
Sponsored by Rathbones, the Dash raised over £9,000 in total. The highest individual fundraiser was Susan Patterson, who raised £1,000.

James Oliver won the 6km race, and the first female was Vikki Stafford.
Rebecca Brewer, Durrell’s Interim CEO, said: “We hope everyone enjoyed the event – the funds they raise together go a long way in helping to protect some of the world’s rarest wildlife, and we are so grateful for their support.”
She thanked runners, volunteers and Rathbones for supporting the event for the last nine years.
The Durrell Dash is set to return with another festive-themed run on Sunday 1 December 2024.
