Over 70% of the funds required to purchase the boat were gathered by Saltgate’s Global Giving scheme, which enables employees to nominate and fundraise for a charity.

A spokesperson from St Catherine’s Sailing Club said: “This incredible opportunity, made possible by the generous hearts of the dedicated Saltgate team, has truly left us speechless.
“The new RIB is an investment in the future of our community. It will serve as a vessel of hope, opportunity, and learning for both children and adults who participate in our sailing programs.
“Thanks to Saltgate’s collective effort and support, Salty will play a vital role in supporting the next generation of sailors, providing them with the tools and resources they need to learn, grow, and succeed on the water.”

Saltgate CEO Simon Riley added: “We’re delighted to establish a new charitable partnership with St Catherine’s Sailing Club.
“With Jersey being an island nation, and home to our biggest office, the sea, beach, and beautiful coastline is part of its identity.
“We’re proud of the colleagues in Jersey who banded together to support fundraising; it highlights the strong sense of community we have at Saltgate, and our enthusiasm to support local, small, volunteer-led organisations.
“The team and I look forward to hearing updates about the impact Salty has in the community.”
