Announced in September last year, the initial phase of the Harbour Master Plan proposes combining the crane and trailer operations into one, consolidated freight area in Elizabeth Harbour, and replacing the terminal building.

The two “industry days” were held to allow potential contractors to find out more about the work involved – and were attended by more than 70 people representing 30 companies.
Jersey’s harbourmaster, Captain Bill Sadler, said: “We were very pleased with the number and expertise of the firms who attended the two events.
“We need to find the right suppliers with the required specialist marine skills, which is why we held two events, one in Jersey and one in London.”

The next stage in the procurement process will see interested firms complete a questionnaire to establish their capability, experience, and suitability to meet the tender requirements, before shortlisted contractors are invited to tender for the work.
