The company says they have acted “proactively” and contacted the 1,961 travellers affected to offer them alternative sailings yesterday, today and on Sunday to minimise disruption.
All services between St. Malo and Jersey have been cancelled tomorrow, as well as their connections with Jersey. The Commodore Goodwill weekly freight service to the Brittany port has also been cancelled.
The decision was made to cancel the sailings after Condor Ferries received information of possible industrial action by the St. Malo port authorities.
Elwyn Dop, Condor Ferries’ Executive Director, Operations, said the situation is very frustrating and inconvenient for passengers but that teams are working to reach all affected passengers to offer alternative arrangements. “We are very disappointed that through the actions of others our services are being disrupted,” he said. “So we are liaising with everyone and providing help with changing their travel plans.”
Last December and January, Condor’s sailings were affected by strikes by the St. Malo port stevedores, causing several cancellations.
