St Paul’s have a perfect record this season of played seven, won seven, but Jersey Scottish are still breathing down their necks in second place.
Victory for St Paul’s at Rovers’ Le Couvent ground would give them a four-point lead over Scottish with two games in hand on their nearest rivals, but that advantage could be seven points by midweek as St Paul’s host third-placed JTC Jersey Wanderers at Springfield.
At the foot of the table it currently looks a straight shoot-out between Jersey Portuguese and Trinity, both of whom have won only twice this season in the league. The two basement sides face each other at Trinity next Saturday.
The other fixture this weekend sees JTC Jersey Wanderers take on St Ouen at JTC Park, a match which promises to be a close contest, as victory for the latter would see them leapfrog over Wanderers into third place.
Jersey Scottish have a free weekend and do not play again in the league until next Saturday’s clash at home to St Ouen.
Both kick-offs this weekend are 14:00, while St Paul’s home match on Wednesday at Springfield will kick-off at 20:00.
