But the States Eco-Active team have got a plan to clean up the mess. They have taken to social media to ask the Jersey public to identify “Dog Poo Hot Spots”.
They want to use the feedback from Facebook, Twitter and email to improve key areas and to get the message out that Islanders should pick up after their pooches.
Eco-Active programme manager Jane Burns said: “We need everyone’s help to make this campaign work.
“Identifying the worst affected parts of the Island will help us to focus our efforts. Please tell us, through email or social media, where the hotspots are. The more specific your information, the better.
“Another issue that we receive complaints about is dog owners leaving or forgetting bagged-up poo when they walk their dogs.
“In response, we’ve launched a practical initiative; stickers are available for people to put on their bins which tell dog walkers they can dispose of the bags in their bin alongside regular household waste if they need to.”
