She takes over from Deputy Terry McDonald who decided not to seek re-election.

In a four-way fight Jess Perchard polled 528 votes, Mary O’Keeffe 266, Andrew Le Quesne 161, and Reform candidate Tom Coles 100.

There was a 43.9% turnout, and 17 spoilt papers.
