In an appeal for more information, officers said the scuffle took place between 17:00 and 18:15 on Saturday (1 August).

They said there was initially a “disturbance” involving a group of 12 to 16-year-olds that knew each other, which escalated into a fight among some of the boys.

“One boy sustained injuries, but did not require hospital treatment,” the Force reported.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the fight. In particular, they would like to speak to two people who intervened and spoke to the group.

Issuing a description of the group, they said: “The boys involved are described as between 5’4” and 5’8” tall, two with black hair, one with red hair and one with blondish hair. They were also described as wearing:

  1. a yellow sleeveless top, grey jogging bottoms and was carrying a black bag.
  2. a grey and black jumper and black shorts with stripes down the side.
  3. a grey puffa jacket
  4. a red jumper and grey shorts.”
