Number 10’s Joe Baker returns to BBC Two at 20:00 for another “crack at the whip” cooking on the show, having lost out on a place in the finals last year.

This time around, Joe will battle it out against not two but three chefs, each preparing a starter and fish course celebrating iconic food from children’s literature.

While the theme may be whimsical, the show is planned to be more intense than ever.

The lowest scoring chef will leave the competition, with the remaining chefs returning next Wednesday 29 April to serve up their mains and deserts.

Commenting on the upcoming episode on Instagram, the Great British Menu wrote: “You’ll be in for an absolute treat!”
