Two senior appointments have been made to a newly-created partnership board intended to bring together providers from across the island’s health and care system to help improve the delivery of services for islanders.

The establishment of the Health and Care Partnership Board, which is separate from the Health and Care Jersey Advisory Board that was already operational, was backed by States Members in September.

The government has said the board’s terms of reference include “examining islanders’ health and wellbeing needs, addressing systemwide challenges, and overseeing the delivery of safe, effective and joined-up health and care services”.

Health Minister Tom Binet revealed yesterday that Rosemarie Finley and Matt Johnson have been appointed as chair and vice-chair respectively.

Ms Finley is a registered nurse and experienced chief executive officer, having led a number of hospital and community health organisations.

She has more than 30 years of experience and holds a master’s degree in healthcare management.

Deputy Binet said: “I am confident that the skills and knowledge they bring will help health and care providers from across the whole island work better together for the benefit of islanders.”

Ms Finley described the development of the Health and Care Partnership Board as “an exciting opportunity to make a significant difference to health care for islanders”.

“We will be leading on a more collaborative and joined-up approach for all,” she added.

Mr Johnson added: “I’m delighted to support the new Health and Care Partnership Board at an important time for the island.”

He continued: “Having lived and worked in Jersey all my life, I strongly believe that better collaboration across health and care is key to improving outcomes.

“I’m looking forward to working with partners to help turn shared ambition into practical, joined-up health services for islanders.”
