What Ports of Jersey CEO Matt Thomas described as a “surge in customer confidence to start to travel once more” has been followed by news from BA today that it will be continuing its route from Jersey to London Heathrow throughout the winter.

Mr Thomas said it reflects “British Airways’ confidence in Jersey as a destination and their ongoing commitment to the island”.

He added: “We’re delighted that islanders are once more able to visit loved ones in the UK, to go on holiday and for tourists to come to the island and support our visitor economy.

“We are very grateful for the support given by our airline partners and for this further demonstration of confidence in Jersey from British Airways.”

Economic Development Minister Senator Lyndon Farnham thanked the Route Development Team at Ports of Jersey and British Airways for their work in ensuring the “important” connection for the island is maintained.

“I believe this announcement further demonstrates the continuing appeal of Jersey as a strong destination among our much-valued airline partners,” he added.
