The trial of a carer alleged to have indecently assaulted a teenage boy in the early 1990s began today.
Donna Bentley (53) appeared in the Royal Court charged with four counts of procuring an act of gross indecency and two counts of indecent assault.
The alleged offences concern the same male victim and are said to have taken place more than 30 years ago, when he was under the age of 16.
Ms Bentley is accused, as part of the six charges, of having twice had sex with the teenage boy when he was asleep.
Crown Advocate Carla Carvalho, prosecuting, told jurors that the case involved “historical sexual abuse by an assault on a teenage child”.
“The prosecution say that because the alleged victim was under 16, he was not capable of consenting to sexual activity with an adult,” she added.
The trial continues.
