Tributes have been paid to a former politician and the Chairman of Hettich Jewellers, who passed away at the age of 90.
A silence was held in memory of Tony Chinn during yesterday’s sitting of the States Assembly.
Mr Chinn was elected as a Senator in 1990, following in the footsteps of his grandfather who held the same position following the Occupation.

He served a six-year term as a politician, during which he sat on a number of Committees, including Finances and Economics, Telecoms, and Harbours and Airports.
It was during his time as as Vice-President of the Harbours and Airports Committee that the Saint-Malo catamaran ran aground on rocks near Corbiere in 1995.
In 1997, Mr Chinn was asked to unveil the clasped hands sculpture to commemorate the rescue efforts.
