But it was some mis-timed subtitles broadcast during Edward’s Sault’s BBC South Today bulletin that have been making the news on social media.

Ed was caught on camera by a viewer after he was captioned with words on screen saying: “It’s a miracle that I’m still alive…I can’t just sit there and do nothing…I need to get on with my life.”

Ed said: “I’ve been working for BBC South in Southampton for the past 15 months after leaving BBC Channel Islands and had just got home from a late presenting shift at BBC South Today when I saw I had a twitter notification. I opened it up and to my amazement saw a collection of screen grabs featuring me and some subtitles. On closer inspection I realised the subtitlers hadn’t kept up with our previous package! It ended up that the clip of a guest we ended on, was still being transcribed as I read our next link!

“It’s caused much laughter at home and in the office and I had a good chuckle too, you never know what’s going to happen on live TV.”
