University College Jersey has unveiled its first master’s degree level course which will allow students to explore a wide range of topics relevant to island life.
The Island Studies programme will take on students from September in partnership with, and accredited by, the University of Plymouth.
Those who complete the two-year part-time course will become a Master of Research (MRes).
The course will cost £4,767.50 per student per year, and is designed for working professionals.
University College Jersey acting head Kate Hobbs said the launch was “a significant milestone” in the development of on-island higher education and a “strategic investment in the island’s future”.
She added: “By equipping islanders with advanced research skills and the ability to tackle real-world challenges, this programme supports Jersey’s ambition to grow as a centre of innovation, knowledge, and professional development.”
