Card machines are back up and running at the Channel Islands Co-op after an outage affected all non-cash payments earlier today.

Earlier this afternoon, no card payments were being accepted at any Co-op stores in Jersey due to an issue with the shop’s card processing provider. The issue is understood to have affected other retailers.

Channel Islands Co-operative CEO Mark Cox confirmed that the issue has now been rectified after impacting all stores for a few hours.

At the time, Mr Cox said: “Unfortunately we have been notified that our card processing provider has experienced an outage which is preventing us from taking card payments at present.”

The issue has now been resolved and customers can once again pay using card or contactless methods.
