Police stopped cars between midnight and 3 am – the times at which the young electrician was seen wandering around the area north of Carrefour Selous – and cars, buses, taxis and car-back services were all stopped, and passengers were questioned.

In all, officers spoke to 235 occupants of 141 cars including cars, taxis, buses and car back services.
The search for the missing man – who police say is unlikely to be found alive after seven days without a trace – is continuing through the weekend. Specialist sonar equipment has arrived in the Island, borrowed from Humberside police, to search deep reservoirs and ponds, as well as wells.
Although there are thought to have been 15 confirmed sightings as well as some CCTV images of Adrian in the early hours of last Saturday morning, there is still no clear idea of where he was heading.
The police are working on the theory that he was suffering from hypothermia and disorientation, after taking a taxi back after celebrating a works night out.
His phone, wallet and belt have been recovered by members of the public and police search teams.
