The one-night-only event is part of the 13th Parish independent film festival, and will be set up by members of German group ‘A Wall is a Screen’.

The Hamburg-based organisation was founded 20 years ago and has performed at some of the world’s top film festivals.

Both the route and the programme for the event will be a surprise, with attendees meeting at the start and being guided through town along a well-prepared route.

Films will be shown on a range of impromptu 'screens' around St Helier.

Festival Director Tony Langlois said: “We’re really looking forward to inviting all of Jersey’s citizens to join us on this walk through town – it’s free and we know it will be absolutely magical, with something for everyone in the programme.”

Anyone wishing to attend should gather at West’s Centre at 21:15 on 20 May, with organisers stating that the event will take place regardless of weather conditions.
