For the past three years, the runners have sped from town to St. Aubins wearing tinsel, Santa suits and all sorts of festive hats as part of @jersey.runclub’s big Christmas social event.
@jersey.runclub are determined to still find a way to celebrate and so, this year, they are asking anyone who wants to get involved to donate the price of their usual ticket (£10) to their JustGiving page.
Participants must then complete a 5k run, walk, swim or cycle before 28 December whilst wearing “some manner of Christmas-themed headgear!”
As the run can’t go ahead en masse, those that really want to feel the community spirit are being invited to do a run – from wherever they are – at 09:00 this morning.

Children who wish to partake are invited to adjust the distance and donation as they feel necessary.
All of the money raised on @jersey.runclub‘s JustGiving page will be going to Shelter Trust Jersey, a charity which provides accommodation and support services for the homeless community in Jersey.
Participants are also being invited post pictures of their virtual Santa Hat Run on Instagram and tag @jersey.runclub.

For existing members of @jersey.runclub, there are prizes available for those who submit a photo of themselves taking part on Instagram, Strava or via email.
Team members should include at least their first name on the donation to keep a record of who has taken part.
