You can now vote on how you think town could be improved and your views will help shape its regeneration.
There are three online polls on the gov.je website here – asking for your top priorities on travel and transport, urban living and environment and identity and community.
You don’t have to live or work in town but you might want free parking when you go shopping, a Park & Ride scheme or better facilities when you are walking or cycling through it.
You’ll find lists here of the types of things that mattered most to people who took part in a number of workshops organised by Ministers back in May – from making St Helier a sustainable, green town, reducing traffic and providing a better place for young people and children to regenerating Havre des Pas and the North of town.
The Council of Ministers say the regeneration of St Helier has been one of their priorities since the Island Plan was approved in 2011 setting out the following vision for it: “To create a vibrant, compact and characterful town that is worthy of its role as Jersey’s capital and principal settlement, with an economically sustainable future which offers the highest quality of life for its communities.”
All those who live, work and visit St Helier will be asked what changes they want to see when there is further targeted consultation over the summer.
