More than 60 graduating Highlands and University College Jersey students came together this afternoon and paraded through town to celebrate their achievements.

The day started with a ceremony at 11.30am at the Freedom Centre, followed by a parade at 1pm, which concluded with a ceremonial hat-throw in Liberation Square.

A reception is being held at the Royal Yacht Hotel.

“Graduation is a celebration of achievement, perseverance, and change,” said Principal Jo Terry-Marchant.

“Each of our graduates has demonstrated dedication, resilience, and the ability to think independently and creatively – qualities that will open doors to exciting opportunities and shape the future they choose to build.

“Graduation is not only a tribute to our students’ academic success, but also to the support networks that have stood beside them – their loved ones, mentors, peers and, of course, their lecturers.”

Today’s ceremony celebrated graduates from programmes spanning Childhood Studies, Psychology and Criminology, Social Science, Digital Technologies, Sports Coaching and Development, Construction Management, Sport and Exercise Science, Social Work, and Diplomas in Education and Training and Strategic Management and Leadership.
