A Jersey singer-songwriter – who today released his debut EP – recently received the support of a One Direction star in promoting his music.
Solo artist Harrison Mayo, who moved to London ten years ago to pursue his musical career, bumped into Louis Tomlinson at a Soccer Aid event.
Mr Tomlinson is most well-known for being one of the five members of One Direction, which became one of the best-selling boy bands of all time before the group went on a hiatus in 2016.
“We had a brief chat, I told him I was a singer and his eyes lit up,” Harrison told Express.
“Once I saw that, I thought I’d ask if he’d mind helping me promote my lead single ‘Vertigo’, to which he responded, ‘Of course, come and get in the video with me’.”
The 27-year-old islander, who has been honing his music career while working multiple jobs, today released his debut EP, ‘Mirage’.
“Over these five songs, Mirage captures a chapter of my life about love and a relationship I was in, where I learned a lot – especially about myself,” explained Harrison.

He is also set to perform at two festivals this weekend, Carfest and Big Feastival, both of which are being headlined by major stars.
Harrison added: “Being able give this project its live debut at the same festivals Rita Ora, Sam Ryder and Nelly Furtardo are headlining feels like a dream that I’ve worked so hard towards!
“I’m very proud of it and already looking forward to working on new stuff, trying new sounds.”
