The fund currently stands at £1,025,000 and with ticket sales still going strong in the run up to the draw on 18 December, organisers say the final total looks likely to “easily beat” last year’s record of £1,038,000.
Tickets have been selling like hot cakes – each one gives you two chances of winning a prize in the main draw. You can also win up to £5,000 with the scratch card. The second-draw prize is £50,000, the third-draw prize is £25,000 and there are 50 prizes of £500.
Lottery ticket sales throughout last year helped raise almost £700,000 for local charities.
The money helped fund a major refurbishment at Little Sisters of the Poor and meant St John Ambulance could buy a replacement support vehicle.
Other organisations to benefit included Jersey Cancer Trust, Jersey Hospice Care, Jersey Brain Tumour Charity and Brighter Futures.
