Elena Irimescu appeared before Relief Magistrate Sarah Fitz on Monday over a breach of the covid-19 regulations which took place on 15 April.
She admitted having failed to self-isolate after being told to do so and was fined £700.
The Relief Magistrate ordered that Irimescu pay her fine at a rate of £100 per week starting from 1 May. If she fails to pay, she could face a three-week prison sentence.
The Minister for Health and Social Services, Deputy Richard Renouf, welcomed the Relief Magistrate’s decision over what he described as a “serious breach in covid-19 regulations.”
“Islanders are reminded that the responsibility to isolate when instructed remains a legal requirement,” he added.
“We ask Islanders to isolate for the protection of our whole community. Those who decide to divert from this action must be held responsible for putting others at risk. The majority of islanders continue to act responsibly while we navigate out of this pandemic and I thank them for their co-operation.”
