Police are appealing for information about a group of men believed to have caused malicious damage to trees in Trinity by installing mountain bike jumps.

The affected area in Egypt Woods is managed by charity Trees for Life.

In a statement, police said: “Trees planted by the charity have been destroyed and other areas of woodland have been damaged by the installation of trails and jumps for mountain bikes.

“Significant costs have been incurred by the charity to repair the damage, replace the trees and remove the various obstacles.”

Officers believe that a group of men are responsible for the alleged malicious damage.
