The anticipated handover of the Lido to events and property management firm First Point is drawing closer – with details being finalised and work taking place to ensure the Havre des Pas site is in “a good state of repair for the incoming tenant”, the Infrastructure Minister has revealed.
Constable Andy Jehan said that the transition was “expected to be in the near future”.
And Marcus Calvani, of outgoing operator BeServed, told Express he had recently signed an agreement to enable the transfer of the site.
“I’ve done my part and I’m very pleased to have delivered everything I promised in a smooth handover for the next tenant,” he added.
The update comes after it emerged earlier this year that First Point was the frontrunner to take over the site, following community group Love Our Lido’s decision to withdraw from the proceedings.
In a written question published yesterday, St Helier Deputy David Warr – who had been at the forefront of the Love our Lido campaign – asked Constable Jehan about the maintenance works that his department intended to carry out in the meantime.
The minister responded: “Jersey Business has brokered the signing of the new lease for the Havre des Pas site and is currently working to agree details of the transfer of some minor items from the previous occupant to the proposed new tenant.
“Final agreement of the date that the proposed new tenant will take over the
premises is dependent on the agreement between the proposed new tenant and the previous occupant, and the notice period required by standing order 168.”

Constable Jehan added: “Until that date, which is expected to be in the near future, Jersey Property Holdings continue to undertake the comprehensive schedule of maintenance and inspections to the public areas of the building fabric, mechanical, electrical, legionella, valves and pumps and other aspects of the structure, in addition to ensuring that the café and kiosk areas are in a good state of repair for the incoming tenant.”
He noted that the pool, changing rooms and toilets continue to be available for public use.
