Hi everyone! We’re Kat and Sarah, the SuperSavvySavers, and we’re really excited to bring you a monthly column packed with local deals and money-saving tips right here in Guernsey.

We love finding great ways to help you save! To stay up-to-date, we recommend following our Facebook page where you can catch the latest offers or check out our local supermarket price comparisons. If you haven’t met us yet, pop over and say hello!

For our first column, we wanted to pick-up on the recent States decision to extend the ’15 hours of FREE pre-school childcare‘ to include registered childminders! This is such a positive development, and a welcome alternative option for many parents, carers, and childminders in our community.

On the theme of free things for children, did you know that the Channel Islands Co-operative have a Baby & Toddler Club which offers a generous £120 in Co-op vouchers to families with little ones under 24 months.

We’ve been sharing this on our Facebook page, but it’s such a great benefit, we want to make sure everyone knows about it! You just need to be a Co-op member and register online to join the Baby & Toddler Club. You’ll then have to show your child’s birth certificate and your own ID in-store to receive the free vouchers.

Talking of baby clubs… Boots also offer a Parenting Club, exclusive to Boots Advantage Card holders and it’s FREE to join. You just need to apply online for an Advantage card (if you haven’t already) then register as a member of the Parenting Club. You’ll receive extra Advantage points on baby products, enjoy exclusive offers, and receive a welcome gift like an Aveeno product.

And if you’re buying Pampers nappies, join the Pampers Club too! You can collect points on your purchases to get free nappies. You can find more information on our website.

Free dental for kids? Yes please!

Did you know that all children under 18 in Guernsey are entitled to a free annual dental check-up? Simply make an appointment with your local dentist and request the ‘States of Guernsey free annual dental check-up.’

If it’s your child’s first check-up, remember to bring their social insurance number (GY number). Let’s keep those smiles healthy and bright!

Continuing with our focus on ‘free for kids,’ we’ve gathered a few more Top Tips to help you make the most of what Guernsey has to offer:

Kids Eat Free! Dining out can be a treat, and even better when it’s budget-friendly. Many cafes and restaurants in Guernsey offer ‘Kids Eat Free’ deals with an adult main course, particularly during school holidays. Keep an eye out for these offers at places like Marvins at Aztech, Slaughterhouse, Mill Street Community Café, Imperial Hotel, and Friquet Garden Centre.

Kids Go Free at Guernsey Attractions! For family fun that won’t break the bank, consider a Discovery Pass.

For just £24 per adult for an annual pass, ALL accompanying children get FREE entry to Castle Cornet, Guernsey Museum at Candie, Fort Grey, and German Naval Signals HQ.

It’s perfect for school holiday entertainment! And a reminder that Castle Cornet reopens on March 26th.

Free Library Service! Have you explored the Guille-Allès Library lately? It’s a fantastic resource for families, and it’s all absolutely FREE!

The children’s area is especially welcoming, with numerous free family events for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-aged children.

Older children can access computers, get homework help, and take advantage of digital services like Sora, online magazines, and free coding courses. Join today for free and discover all the library has to offer.

Free Lego Magazine! Do you have a Lego enthusiast at home? You can sign them up for a FREE subscription to the Lego magazine, delivered directly to your door four times a year.

Yes, you read that right – absolutely free, including postage! It’s a great way to spark their creativity.

You can find further information on all of these offers, and more, on our website at www.supersavvysaveers.co.uk. We’re always updating it with the latest deals and tips to help you save.
