RBC Wealth Management (RBC) in Jersey is supporting this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week and its theme of ‘kindness’ through a donation of £10,000 to assist with Mind Jersey’s important work during Covid-19. The generous donation is being made as a part of an ongoing commitment by RBC to support the mental health charity on the island throughout 2020, recognising that current circumstances will put additional pressure on the charity and the wellbeing of others.

Mental Health Awareness Week runs from 18th to 24th May, and this year will be focusing on how kindness can transform a community during circumstances such as those which Covid-19 has presented. A simple act of kindness has the ability to unlock our shared humanity, strengthen relationships, develop community spirit and deepen solidarity.

The contribution from RBC will allow the charity to continue to offer its vital services to the community, now being provided through a range of mediums including online, Facetime, WhatsApp and other technological platforms due to physical distancing measures.

James Le Feuvre, Executive Director of Mind Jersey, said: “We are very grateful for RBC’s continued support of our charity and for recognising the impact which the current situation will have on some people’s mental wellbeing. It is encouraging to see a large employer like RBC place such importance on promoting good mental health during these unusual times.

“During Mental Health Awareness Week we want to celebrate the many acts of kindness that are already taking place on Jersey. During times of physical distancing and periods of isolation for many islanders kindness has the ability to connect us to one another even if we can’t be physically close.”

David Bailey, Chief Operating Officer, RBC Wealth Management said: “On behalf of RBC, we are delighted to continue our support of Mind Jersey, and the invaluable services they provide for the mental wellbeing of islanders. In a time where we are all isolated from one another, an act of kindness can go a long way and we are proud to work alongside them.”
