Guernsey’s men delivered a “commanding win” over Jersey in the 2025 basketball inter-insulars.
The Green Army saw off their old rivals 78-59 at Beau Sejour on Saturday.
The rest of the weekend did not go Guernsey’s way though, with the reds winning the other two inter insular matches played.
Jersey’s u16 girls claimed the trophy with a 31-54 win over their hosts on Saturday, while Jersey’s u21 men won their match 70-80 on Sunday.
Guernsey Basketball described the weekend as a “great weekend at the Beausie Dome” and thanked “all the teams, coaches, organisers and supporters!”.
As well as the inter-insulars, Guernsey Basketball staged a Future Stars exhibition across the weekend with young Sarnians showing off their skills.
On Saturday, players from school years five and six took to the court ahead of the island teams.
On Sunday, players from school years seven and eight representing the Candie Court Kings and Vazon Vipers competed, with Nathaniel Kazer highlighted by Guernsey Basketball as the Most Valuable Player.
