The wind and rain made for tough riding, and eventual winner Marc Cox, like many others, opted for the assured handling of a traditional road bike than risk using a more aero TT machine.

His winning time of 21:54 was a reflection of those conditions.

Cox pipped second placed Alex Van Katwyk by four seconds over the ten-mile Cobo course.

Time trial specialist Aaron Bailey was third with 22:31 in his first race back after a four-year break, while little over one second separated veterans Tony Bleasdale and Club President Alex Margison in fourth and fifth respectively.

Island Games mountain biker Jamy Petit-Fulgoni (pictured below) was first Lady in 26:18, with newly crowned Ladies cyclocross champion Esther Reid second in 28:04 ahead of Serena Ace-Hopkins in third in 31:00.

There was a strong turnout among junior riders.

Ollie Duguid won the U18s in 26:56, Seth Davey was first U16 in 26:04, and Remi Le Compte leading U14 in 30:53.
