Guernsey FC could do little to stop in-form Moneyfields march up the table in the Isthmian South Central.
It was a depleted Green Lions who travelled to the John Jenkins Stadium and left on the wrong end of a 4-1 scoreline.
The Moneys have won eight games on the bounce to move to the brink of the playoff spots, while Guernsey FC are still locked in a tight relegation battle.
The hosts took the lead inside 15 minutes as James Franklyn converted from close range after Lucas Hanley, rejoining the club to help with its current goalkeeper shortage, had saved Ciaran Martin’s initial effort.
Moneyfields captain Callum Laycock beat Hanley to a low cross at the near post to make it 2-0 shortly after the half-hour.
Guernsey FC spurned a chance to get back into the game on 61 minutes.
Brandon Wallace, in a new central role, drew a foul to win a penalty, but Charlton Gauvin’s weak effort from the spot was stopped by the keeper.
But it was not long before they were on the scoresheet.
Simon Arnold’s fine strike was his first for GFC.
Six minutes later Moneyfields were clear again, Lawrence Cooper turning the ball in while unmarked at the back post.
With 90 minutes up, they got their fourth, substitute Jafer Mahammedkier finishing a squared ball after the home side had beaten the offside trap.
Next up for the Green Lions is a tough trip to Leatherhead tomorrow night.
