Hundreds of runners will be competing in the EY Easter Running Festival this weekend.

Local and visiting athletes will be toeing the line when the events start on Good Friday morning.

The first event is the 5k road race from L’eree to Vazon. That’s followed by the iconic Guernsey ‘full course’ cross country race on Saturday.

Easter Sunday morning will see the relay races take place at Delancey Park, before the festival closes with the 10k road race from Grandes Rocques to North Side on Easter Monday.

Runners have already registered and they’re encouraged to collect their numbers on Thursday evening if possible.

Guernsey Athletics are expecting around 340 people in total to compete in at least one of the races over the weekend, with more than 250 signed up for the 5k, and just under 200 taking on the 10k.

Among the runners to watch will be visiting Olympian Steph Twell who is expected to run in the 5k and the cross country races.

She broke Guernsey’s 5k road record last year with a 16:00 run along the west coast.
