St Pierre Park is the new sponsor of the Guernsey Rowing Club, with a three-year collaboration now in place, looking to reinforce what Hand Picked Hotels’ calls it’s “commitment to supporting health and wellbeing initiatives in the island”.
The GRC currently has 100 members and says it aims to make rowing accessible and inclusive for all. It says it will use the financial support provided by St Pierre Park Hotel to continue offering reduced membership rates for new rowers and to train more coaches.
Additionally, the support will help the club build up a cohort of club-owned boats, reducing the need to rely on privately leased vessels, which it hopes will ensure a more sustainable and self-sufficient future for the club.
As part of the partnership, Hand Picked Hotels has also announced it will host a variety of events to further support the Guernsey Rowing Club throughout the year.
“Promoting wellness and wellbeing practices is a core value at Hand Picked Hotels,” said Elizabeth Raine, the General Manager of St Pierre Park Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort.
“The Guernsey Rowing Club shares our passion for healthy living and is doing fantastic work to make the sport more accessible and inclusive.
“We’re proud to be their headline sponsor and support their continued growth.”
Ben Vaudin, the Captain of Guernsey Rowing Club, added: “We’re incredibly grateful to St Pierre Park for their support over next three years. The sponsorship will be vital in helping us grow the club and ensure that rowing remains accessible to all people in Guernsey.
“We’re excited to see what great things our partnership will bring.”
The sponsorship of the Guernsey Rowing Club is the latest in a series of partnerships announced recently that look to support the local sporting community.
Other recent sponsorship agreements by Hand Picked Hotels include Guernsey’s new home of football Victoria Park, and the Guernsey Sailing Trust.
