He will have the honour of starting the historic race for his AO Racing Team in GTD Pro in what should prove to be a strong and competitive lineup.

It will be his third appearance at Daytona, where more than 60 cars from different classes will battle through the night, with all the unique demands that brings.

Priaulx will be joined by Laurin Heinrich, who will be his regular partner this season, and the experienced Porsche works driver Michael Christensen.

Qualifying is this weekend.

“I think we’re going be in the fight. It’s not going to be easy, but nothing’s easy, is it in life? I’m excited,” he said.
