Guernsey’s athletes continue to impress at the Orkney 2025 Island Games. Some standout performances have shot Guernsey into third place in the overall medal table.
Track and Field proceed to bring medals to the Guernsey camp. Victoria Hancock was victorious in the Women’s Long Jump.
Hancock nabbed consecutive gold medals with a jump of 5.35m, topping an impressive field of 14 competitors. Following on from her 2023 Guernsey triumph, Hancock laid claim her second gold medal. She also achieved a bronze medal in Sunday’s Triple Jump.

Elsewhere in athletics, Nicolas Ackermann stepped up in the 400m Hurdles to win gold. In a race of just three competitors, Ackermann prevailed. An impressive time of 56.96s was enough to secure top spot.
In the Women’s contingent, Darcey Hodgson put on a fantastic display to win a silver medal, beating reigning champion Olivia Allbut in the process.
Christopher Bain won silver in the Men’s 1500m, losing out to Jersey’s Ted Chamberlain by a mere 1.10 seconds.
In the pool, Guernsey’s young swimmers continued to shine on the international stage.
The impressive Chloe Bown added another gold to her repertoire in the 200m Individual Medley. Oriana Wheeler followed in second place securing a silver medal.
The two swimmers were a part of the Guernsey foursome that took on the 4x50m Medley Relay. With the help of Orla Rabey and Tatiana Tostevin, the girls swam a fantastic race to win another silver medal.
The team clocked an impressive time of 1:54.49 which was just 0.10 seconds short of the gold medalists, the Faroe Islands.
Tostevin attained a medal of her own in the Women’s 100m Backstroke. She grabbed a silver medal in a hotly contested Final, with just a second separating the top three.

Delphine Riley earned a bronze in the 1500m Freestyle with Elodie Riley just missing out on the podium in fourth place.
Guernsey were triumphant in the Men’s Mountain Bike Criterium Team Award. Seth Davey, Mark Ferbrache, Mark Le Page, Peter Sargent, and Charlie Tourtel earned a silver medal in yesterday’s outing.
Mark Le Page’s efforts, coming fourth overall, spearheaded Guernsey’s silver medal in the Team event.
In Archery, Lisa Gray and Jason Le Page won bronze in the Mixed Recurve Head-to-Head Team Knockout.
After a fantastic Quarter Final performance, beating Aland 6-0. The Guernsey pairing were met with the eventual gold medalists from Jersey, where they were beat in a tight contest 5-3.
