Rick Weston took control early and never looked back in the opening race of the Chertsey House road race series.
There were 135 people on the start line for the 5 miler, which took runners from Rocque Ballan to North Beach.
A moderate headwind tested runners for much of the course.
Out front, Weston stretched away from Jack Rees early on and never looked like giving up the lead, coming home clear by over a minute for the win in 26:07.
While Rees was solo in second, the field behind him enjoyed a solid battle for the final podium spot.
That was effectively decided when Matt Jamieson upped the tempo through Bulwer Avenue to stretch away clear from Andrew McCarthur, Nick Mann, George Mason and Pete Amy who finished in that order.
Ulrike Maisch was the leading woman and her time also secured her top spot in the age graded results which take into account your age and sex to produce a percentage score for your run.
She stopped the clock at 30:31, 24 seconds clear of Nix Petit, with Sarah Eagles finishing the podium spots in 31:22.
