Jersey’s archery teams won silver and bronze medals in fiercely contested knockout rounds at the Island Games this week.

Jersey’s Compound Team won silver in the head-to-head knockout competition, whilst the Recurve Team landed a bronze medal.

The Compound Team – comprising Hannah Bridle, Francisco Rocha and Heath Perrett – won this event in Guernsey in 2023.

They were hoping to replicate their previous success, but lost out to the Faroe Islands in the final this year.

It was a similar outcome in the Recurve Team Knockouts with the Faroe Islands taking gold once again.

Jersey’s Recurve Team – made up of Freddie Crosby, Mollie Perrett, and Tony Vardon – made a fantastic start to the knockouts by beating Aland 6-0 in the quarter-final.

But the trio was toppled 6-2 by Guernsey’s silver-medal winning team in the semi-finals.

Nevertheless, the Jersey team were on point in the bronze medal match, beating the Shetland Islands 6-0.

Jersey’s archers have now collected a total of 10 medals in the Orkney 2025 Island Games.
