The Jersey Bulls have achieved their long-time promotion goal following a win at Springfield Stadium last night.

Elliott Powell’s squad came out victorious from a fast-paced play-off final of the Combined Counties League against Cobham last night, winning 2-1 thanks to goals in each half from Fraser Barlow and Joe Kilshaw.

The win means the club will move into the eighth tier of English football for the first time in its short history.

From next season, the Bulls will play in Isthmian League Division One South East, facing clubs based in Kent, Sussex and south London.

It comes as a bit of much-needed good news for the club, which has faced a tumultuous time in recent months.

After topping the Combined Counties Premier South table at the end of the season, a three-point deduction for fielding a suspended player saw the Bulls drop to second place and into the play-offs.

But a full-capacity stadium cheered on the lads last night on the final whistle, with young fans flooding the pitch to celebrate with the team.
