Chloe Greechan, Analise Merritt, Charlie Miles, Trinity Smith and Grace Wetherall were chosen based on their strong performances in T10 and T20 cricket.
The five islanders will join the British and Irish Roses alongside other cricketers selected from Guernsey, England, Gibraltar and Ireland.
The Meltl Shield is set to be hosted by the European Cricket Network at the Roma Cricket Ground on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 August.
It is a T10 format tournament of nine matches, featuring a selection of the best female cricketers.
The local participants will travel to Italy’s capital with their Manager, Jersey Cricket CEO Sarah Gomersall, to face Team Europe in the new competition.
Jersey Head Coach Darren Thomas said: “This is a great chance for our players to show off their skills in a franchise type environment amongst a team of high quality players and facing a European team with many familiar names.
“Up to now there hasn’t been many opportunities to play with cricketers of this calibre, with players from England, Ireland, Guernsey and Gibraltar all represented.
“It shows the progress of women’s cricket in Jersey that we have five cricketers in the Roses squad and they can all be proud of their places.”
Manuela Meltl-Weston, the Founder of the European Cricket Network, added: “Myself and my family are so excited to see the game growing further and faster.
“Not only am I proud to have my surname on the shield but more importantly to create platforms for the best female cricketers today and drive the ambition of tomorrow.”
