Jersey’s leading sides continued their strong form across a busy weekend of sport, with success in rugby, football and volleyball headlining the action.
Jersey RFC’s Men maintained their perfect record with an emphatic 66-12 victory over Camberley, extending their remarkable run to 20 wins from 20. Meanwhile, the Jersey RFC Women produced a competitive display against unbeaten leaders Hove, leading at half-time before eventually falling to a 38-20 defeat.
In football, Jersey Bulls strengthened their play-off push with a controlled 2-0 win over Eastbourne Town. Rai Dos Santos opened the scoring shortly after the break before Adam Trotter sealed the points, while results elsewhere mean the race for the top five remains incredibly tight.
The Jersey Bulls Women also continued their strong campaign, recording a 3-1 victory over Horley Town to keep their title hopes firmly on track.
There was more local drama in Premiership 1, where St Clement’s 3-2 win over Jersey Wanderers tightened the title race, while St Peter and St Brelade shared eight goals in a thrilling 4-4 draw. Across the divisions, Sporting Academics kept pace at the top of Premiership 2, while St Clement Reserves edged Jersey Wanderers Reserves in Championship 1.
Off the football pitch, Women’s volleyball success added to the weekend’s highlights, while Jersey Hockey saw Victoriana secure a Division 2 league and cup double in convincing fashion.
Jersey’s young footballers were also in action in the Junior Star Series, alongside the Jersey Bulls Girls Academy in action at Victoria Park in Guernsey.
In netball, Evelyn Partners Jets 2’s ended their Regional League campaign on a positive note, bouncing back from defeat to secure victory on Sunday and finish fifth overall.
