Tributes have been paid to a “fantastic goalkeeper” and popular member of the island’s football community who died recently.
Jordan “Leggy” Le Guyader, who played for St Brelade and St Paul’s, was a rare breed of footballer in that he was equally adept as both a goalkeeper and striker.
In a post to social media, Jersey FA said: “The Jersey FA sends its condolences to Jordan’s family, friends and all those who knew him.
“The tributes from across the Island’s football community this weekend show just how much he meant to so many.”
One Islander said: “Can’t believe this, so sad to hear about Jordan Le Guyader, [he] had the heart, thoughts with everyone close to him”.
Sportscast Jersey said: “So sorry to hear the devastating news that Jordan Le Guyader has passed away.
“Not many are brilliant in goal and in front of goal as a striker, but Jordan was!
“A top guy off the pitch too, who had a positive impact on so many people’s lives.
“Thoughts are with his family and close friends at this hard time. RIP Jordan”.
St Paul’s Football club said: “Everyone at St Paul’s Football Club is saddened to hear the passing of Jordan Le Guyader.
“A former St Paul’s player, a fantastic goalkeeper but an even better person.”
St Brelade Sport and Social Club held a memorial for Mr Le Guyader on Sunday.
It said: “It is with heavy hearts that we acknowledge the passing of Jordan Le Guyader last week.
“Friends and teammates gathered at the club to remember him, and to simply be together in grief.
“Jordan was a larger-than-life, colourful character who will be missed enormously by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
“Our thoughts are with Jordan’s family and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time.
“Rest easy, Leggy.”
