The ongoing success of Saffery Champness in Guernsey is reflected through the promotion of 15 members of staff, six of them to management and senior management level.
The company, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary in the island this year, has a strong culture of learning and development and supports staff from trainee level up to directorship.
Greta Allman and Nick Ford have been promoted from trust manager to senior trust manager.
Mr Ford joined Saffery Champness as a trainee trust administrator in 1999. He is ACCA qualified and manages one of five fiduciary teams with a diverse portfolio of clients and complex structures across multiple jurisdictions. He also sits on the firm’s business development committee. Nick was named as one of Eprivateclient’s Top 35 Under 35 in 2015 and Citywealth’s future leaders under 40 top 100 list in 2016.
Ms Allman joined Saffery Champness in 2013 as trust manager of a specialist Middle East family office team, dealing with a large variety of fiduciary structures and assets. She is a qualified member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and ICSA. She was recently named as one of Eprivateclient’s Top 35 Under 35 and Citywealth’s future leaders under 40 top 100.
In the tax department, Danny Miller has been promoted to assistant tax manager.
Mr Miller has more than 12 years’ experience in the finance sector and started at Saffery Champness as a trainee trust administrator before moving into the tax team. He is primarily involved in UK and international tax compliance matters with a particular focus on global reporting requirements such as FATCA and CRS. Mr Miller has qualified through the association of tax technicians and is currently studying towards being a chartered tax adviser. Lucy Dodd and Samantha Holden, who both joined Saffery Champness in 2011 as trust administrators, have been promoted to assistant trust managers.
Miss Dodd is responsible for a defined portfolio of clients and the supervision of a team ensuring a high standard of client service. She is STEP qualified and supports the trust manager in all aspects of the daily operations of the department including assisting with staff development.
Mrs Holden is the assistant manager of a team who administer the structures and assets of an ultra-high net worth Middle East family. More specifically, she is responsible for all the financial aspects, administration and reporting for the team, including the preparation of financial statements and audit.
Richard Anderson-Relf has been promoted to IT manager. He has worked for Saffery Champness for 18 months and was initially employed as the assistant IT manager. This role rapidly expanded from updating systems to include reorganising the infrastructure as a whole.
As the IT manager Mr Anderson-Relf is responsible for the continual balancing of security, reliability and productivity within IT systems. He is a certified City and Guilds trainer with more than 22 years' experience in IT services within the finance and education sectors of the Channel Islands, and has been an associate CIPD member since 2010.
Zac Hanley, Sam Ward, Maria Adam, Luke Bourgaize, Jodie Martel, Anna Crowder, April Walker, Genevieve Bougourd and Connor Gaudion have also been promoted across the company.
Saffery Champness currently employs 125 people in its Guernsey office and has seen many individuals progress from junior roles to senior management including managing director Nick Batiste who started with the company as a trainee trust administrator in 1992.
