Apprentice Greenkeeper

La Moye Golf Club is seeking to recruit a highly motivated individual to join the existing team and help maintain the golf course to the highest standard.

The successful applicant will not only be responsible for assisting in the maintenance of the Championship Links but be part of an exciting period of course improvements to include the redesign and construction of holes commencing in October 2024.

This is an amazing opportunity to start your career in greenkeeping and study towards an apprenticeship whilst you work. The team have a wealth of knowledge and can support you fully to make sure you are covering all the practical elements of the course. You will also need to be a team player and demonstrate good communication skills and a passion about your chosen career.

Candidates will preferably have an interest in Golf although this is not essential.

The ideal candidates should be able to evidence and demonstrate the following :-

•Be physically fit and able to undertake manual work on a daily basis.•Demonstrate attention to detail and able to work with energy and pace to get the job done.

•A flexible approach to work hours given the requirement for early morning starts and weekend duties that are allocated on a shift rotor basis.

•A supportive and team orientated attitude but can also work independently and on own initiative.

•A desire to undertake training and develop themselves through taking qualifications associated within greenkeeping.

•Possession of a local employment permit.

•Holder of a current and valid driving license or willing to work towards.

A salary and holiday package appropriate to an apprentice progression structure will be provided and is based on a 38 hour working week with favorable overtime rates. All college fees will also be provided on successful completion of a probational period.
