Assistant Manager - Funds Accounting/Administration

Description

To assist and support the Senior Manager/Manager with the accounting and administration roles of fund structures under the supervision of the Manager.


Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation/review of bookkeeping for a range of fund entities
  • Preparation/review of reconciliations including the cash, loans, equity and intercompany reconciliations on a monthly or quarterly basis
  • Preparation/review of all client reporting deliverables
  • Dealing with a varied range of client queries
  • Calculation and payment of management fees / carried interest payable by the funds
  • Preparation/review and monitoring of payments using online banking systems
  • Preparation/review of drawdown and distribution process
  • Management/supervision of the funding flow process which includes liaising with client, lawyers, tax advisors and other administrators and collating the relevant documentations to ensure the timely bookkeeping of such transactions
  • Management/supervision of team mailboxes
  • Preparation/review of information to go in board packs for board meetings
  • To ensure own and direct reporting team members have completed time sheets on a daily basis
  • To be the contact for direct reporting team members when it comes to technical matters and on professional relationships
  • Supervise the training and development of individuals directly reporting to you
  • Providing support to the Management Team
  • Always strive for excellent client service and delivery and help other employees understand the Firm's ethos of excellence for them to do the same
  • Any other reasonable duties that may be assigned


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • To be professionally qualified in ICSA/ACCA, ICAEW or equivalent or working towards a qualification
  • Solid understanding of real estate and private equity structures (practical experience or exposure to such is a plus)
  • To have advanced accounting, administration, analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail to ensure work is of a consistently high standard
  • A high level of tact, diplomacy and confidentiality is essential due to the nature of the work
  • Ability to be proactive, manage own workload with minimal supervision required and prioritise accordingly
  • To identify issues and think of solutions and propose them to management
  • Exceptional organisational skills are essential, with accurate and timely completion of work
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills, strategic thinking and leadership experience, with the ability to communicate at all levels
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and applications, particularly Word and Excel
  • To be able to use all standard business software (experience or exposure to Investran software is a plus)
  • Flexible, with the ability to work to time pressures and react calmly to changing demands
  • To be aware of the limits of his/her decision-making entitlement and not to take risks in this regard
  • A good team player
