Gulietta, a four-month-old American Staffordshire Terrier puppy, is set to be exported after she was seized by Customs officers at the end of February.
Her owner brought her to the Island and says she was originally allowed to take her home.
Veronika Mikulinova Benhakak turned to Jersey Dog Forum on Facebook earlier this month to ask Islanders to help her.
A decision was made on Monday to export the dog. It is unclear where the puppy will be sent to, or when the export will take place.
A States spokesman said: "In the interests of the animal’s welfare, the dog in question will be exported from Jersey in due course."
A similar incident happened last year when another ‘Pitbull' type dog – Mr Bronx – was impounded. After a ten-month legal fight, and a sustained social media campaign, it was decided just before Christmas that the dog would be allowed to stay in the Island, but the family had to abide by strict conditions including muzzling Mr Bronx at times.
