Guernsey Energy has launched a low carbon gas, named 4Gen Gas, available for homes and businesses alike.
Made from household and industrial waste, Guernsey Energy said BioLPG offers a cleaner, greener alternative to traditional fuels.
4Gen Gas is the fourth generation of gas in Guernsey Energy’s nearly 200-year history with the company saying the milestone reflects the company’s commitment to innovation and sustainability, moving from traditional fuels to renewable alternatives that support Guernsey’s net zero by 2050 goal.
“Sustainability has always been a priority for us,” said Graeme Millar, Chief Executive Officer at Islands Energy Group.
“Earlier this year, we trialled BioLPG with local businesses, giving them the chance to contribute to a greener island. Now, with 4Gen Gas, everyone can join that movement—without the expense or disruption of changing appliances. It’s a practical way to make a real difference.”
