Babbé LLP has promoted Advocate David Doutney to Partner.
Mr Doutney has 12 years of experience in cross-border insolvency and shareholder disputes, and has previously practised in Australia and the Cayman Islands.
He passed the Guernsey Bar exams in 2023, before qualifying as a Guernsey Advocate in 2024.
Todd McGuffin, Head of Disputes & Risk, said Doutney has made significant contributions to the firm’s growth.
“Since joining the firm, David has consistently demonstrated exceptional legal skill, sound judgement, and an unwavering commitment to client service.
“He has earned the trust and respect of clients and colleagues alike and has made significant contributions to the growth and success of the firm.”
The firm also highlighted three additional qualifications within the Disputes & Risk team.
“In the autumn Nick Howell, Senior Associate, was admitted as an Advocate of the Royal Court having successfully completed the Certificat d’Etudes Juridiques Francaises et Normandes from the University of Caen, Normandy and the Guernsey Bar Exams,” said Mr McGuffin.
“Additionally, we have also celebrated the hard work of our two new Associates, Rosanna Wright and Tillie Graham. They both successfully completed the SQE route to qualification and become the first two Associates to qualify under the first training contracts awarded by the firm.”
