If deputies approve the changes it will amend the Law, making “consequential amendments to Ordinances in Guernsey, Sark and Alderney relating to e-Privacy” while also making transitional and savings provisions.
Two ordinances have been lodged with the Greffier for debate by the States of Deliberation, under the Guernsey Data Protection laws confirming their introduction.

The new laws will be overseen by Emma Martins, who was appointed Guernsey’s Data Protection Commissioner after stepping down as the previous pan island data protection commissioner in October.
