The statutory role acts as a non-voting member of the Data Protection Authority, and Chief Executive of the Office of the Data Protection Authority (ODPA).
The Authority is the independent body tasked with overseeing the Bailiwick’s data protection law, providing governance and strategic direction through a Chair and six voting members.

Richard Thomas CBE, the Authority’s Chairman, commented: “We are looking for someone with the experience and personality to ensure that we remain fully effective.
“Everyone understands the importance of responsible use of personal information, but making it happen in practice requires skilful use of the available tools.
“Emma Martins will be a tough act to follow, but the right person will find this to be a very fulfilling leadership role.”
