A Guernsey trust company has won an international technology award for its digital transformation programme.
Albany Trustee Company Limited received the Laserfiche Run Smarter Programme of the Year Award at the Laserfiche Empower 2026 conference in Las Vegas.
Supported by Channel Islands technology firm Delimited IT Solutions, Albany was one of seven organisations recognised for using the platform to improve productivity, automate processes and deliver measurable business improvements.
The award recognises the strongest overall Laserfiche programme, judging organisations on strategy, implementation and results.
Director Amanda Crowther-Martel said the company was “utterly delighted and surprised” to receive the award.
The annual Empower conference attracts Laserfiche users from around the world to share insights, learn about product developments and explore future innovations.
International recognition
Ms Crowther-Martel collected the award on behalf of the company and also spoke at a Financial Services User Group session during the conference, where she shared Albany’s experience of implementing the platform and the benefits it has achieved.
“We were utterly delighted and surprised to have been chosen for this award, given we are at the start of this journey following our migration from a shared-drive environment with limited permissions to a centralised repository in a document management system,” she said.
Mrs Crowther-Martel said attending Empower 2026 had also provided an opportunity to learn from other users and industry experts.
“Attending Empower 2026 was an incredible experience. Getting to speak with the Laserfiche experts and other Laserfiche users and being able to attend workshops and labs to enhance my knowledge of the product was both helpful and interesting.”
Digital transformation journey
Albany has been using Laserfiche as part of a wider technology transformation programme aimed at improving efficiency and connectivity between systems.
“As part of our technology transformation, we are working towards a ‘key-it-once’ approach and utilising Laserfiche as a conduit between systems,” Mrs Crowther-Martel said.
Delimited IT Solutions Managing Director Justin Guilbert said the project had helped Albany move away from paper-based processes and improve efficiency, traceability and governance.
